Potentially explosive atmospheres can occur in many branches of industry, for example in the chemical, petrochemical and biofuel industries, in oil and gas extraction, in mining, in the pharmaceutical industry as well as in the food industry and sewage sector. To prevent serious personal injury, material damage and environmental harm, most states have safety rules, laws, regulations and standards in place. Explosion protection has thus reached an advanced standard of safety worldwide. 

As one of the first and for a long time also one of the only manufacturers to do so, STAHL CraneSystems has influenced the development of explosion-proof hoisting technology instrumentally since the end of the 1920s. Through own fundamental research and development, we have built up a wealth of experience that secures us a significant lead and has contributed to progress in the complete industry. Approvals from the German PTB national metrology institute and other national and international test institutes as well as worldwide certifications underline the special position of STAHL CraneSystems in this field. 

Apart from the largest and most comprehensive product range that fulfils German safety and European ATEX regulations, and is certified according to the international IECEx standard, our portfolio comprises and extensive range of services from consulting and engineering to country-specific management of approval and certification procedures.
